Deighton Leon Atkisson, 93, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Hammond-Henry Hospital Long Term Care in Geneseo, Ill.
He was born in Woodston, Kansas, on November 18, 1930, to Styles Elmer Atkisson and Gladys Velma Jones Atkisson.
Charles Lee “Charlie” Hamit, 79, of Nowata, Okla., passed from this world to his heavenly home on February 20, 2024, after a battle with cancer.
He was born on June 5, 1944, to Marion and Elda (Elliott) Hamit in Hays. He graduated from Stockton Senior High School, then served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict.
Ronald Eric Wallgren passed away on January 30, 2024, in Hays, at the age of 65, after a lengthy illness with cancer.
He was born in Logan to Lloyd and Betty (Damewood) Wallgren on August 29, 1958.
Ron grew up and attended Logan Schools, graduating in the class of 1976.
Donna Marie Campbell, 76, passed away on February 12, 2024, at Smith Center Health and Rehab.
She was born August 15, 1947, In Smith Center, the daughter of Esbon and Gertrude Widener.
Donna spent her childhood on a farm in the Gretna area. She attended school in Smith Center. She graduated from Agra High School in 1966. She married George Campbell on May 30, 1966, and two children were born to this union.
On February 19, 2024, Ruth Nadine (Ives) Fenton caught her last glimpse of the sunset on this earth. Ruth was born on August 27, 1936, to Harold and Hilma (Fisher) Ives. She was the sixth of eight children growing up just north of the Stockton city limits. Sharing her early years on the farm with three brothers, three sisters, three cousins, and then two nieces later on.
Robert “Bob” A. Malin, of Plainville, Kansas, passed away on February 13, 2024, at HaysMed Center at 84.
He was born on August 16, 1939, to Francis and Maxine (Colvin) Malin in Russell, Kansas. He married Carol J. (Prockish) on July 1, 1961.
Bob grew up in Plainville. He was the owner/operator of Malin Backhoe Service, where he employed his sons and many people from the community.
Allen Lee Gosser, Codell, passed away on February 11, 2024, at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville at the age of 88.
He was born on August 18, 1935, to Theodore H. and Foila B. (Joy) Gosser in Hays, Kansas.
Shirley F. Finnesy, of Plainville, passed away on February 5, 2024, at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville.
She was born on March 4, 1935, to Herman B. and Clarron A. (Clements) Mason in Hays. She married Richard Duane Finnesy on July 31, 1953, in Plainville. They were blessed with two children: Tom and Dee.
