County approves funds for Redbud Village feasibility study

Body
At the regular meeting of the Rooks County Commission, held on Tuesday, April 19th, the commissioners were informed that the Plainville Community Foundation has half of the funds, in the amount of $70,000.00, for the Redbud Village feasibility study. After a lengthy discussion, and looking at the line items in the Redbud Village and the Redbud Assisted Living budgets, they voted to issue the Plainville Community Foundation a total of $70,000.00 ($50,000.00 from the Redbud Assisted Living line item budget and $20,000.00 from the Redbud Village line item budget) for the remaining half of the cost of the feasibility study, with it noted that the funds will be reimbursed back to the County upon USDA approval. This is the first step in looking into a new facility for the town. Commissioner Tim Berland asked what the County needed to do to get the City of Plainville interested in taking over the facility, and this feasibility study would be a move in that direction. It was also noted that the Plainville City Council had discussed this issue at their last meeting.
