Earthquake recorded in southern Rooks County
The Kansas Geological Survey reported a small earthquake in southern Rooks County last Friday, April 21. The 2.1-magnitude quake was recorded at 11:26 a.m.

After reviewing the options presented to them, the commissioners voted on a new Stockton logo that will now be used for banners, shirts, etc., at the regular meeting of the Stockton City Commission on Tuesday, April 28th. They also approved the Gift Fund request for $250.

The Kansas Society of the Sons of the American Revolution recently held its 140th Conference in Olathe, Kansas. During the business meeting, Garry Baxter from Beloit, Kansas, was installed by the Vice President General, Charles McLemore from Arkansas, as the Western Kansas State Vice President.

Road and bridge supervisor Rich Bouchey was at the Rooks County Commission meeting on Tuesday, April 4th, to present the commissioners with other options for an excavator purchase for the department. Commissioners Kayla Hilbrink and Tim Berland asked about the financing.
