Search continues for missing Parsons man

LABETTE COUNTY—The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and the Labette County Sheriff’s Office continue searching for Dakota A. Patton, the 23-year-old man last seen the evening of April 25, in Parsons, Kansas. Foul play is suspected in Patton’s disappearance.

The Rooks County Commissioners met with sheriff Gary Knight at their weekly meeting on Tuesday, May 25th. Knight was present to ask for $3,000.00 for the D.A.R.E. program for the county schools. The commissioners approved the funds for the program as presented.

The Kansas Geological Survey reported a minor earthquake in southern Phillips County Thursday, April 27th. The 2.6-magnitude quake was recorded about three miles south and two miles east of Glade at 4:35 p.m.
