38th annual Parade of Christmas Trees now on display

It’s the 38th annual Parade of Christmas Trees at the Stockton Public Library! This year’s creative designs/themes include the Grinches, snowflakes, Santas, and much more! The twenty-eight trees will be on display in the Carnegie Room through the month of December during regular library hours. Remember to vote for your favorite trees in the Adult and Youth Categories.
THERE ARE 28 Christmas Trees for the public to enjoy during this year’s Parade of Christmas Trees at the Stockton Public Library.This Christmas gnome is the creation of the Sigma Phi ESA.

Several presentations given at county meeting

The Rooks County Commissioners listened to two presentations dealing with the County’s property insurance for the 2023 year during their regular weekly meeting on Tuesday, November 22nd. Representatives from K Camp and K Worc first gave their combined presentation to commissioners John Ruder and Tim Berland. Then Mark Lowry with Garrett Insurance Company gave his presentation. The commissioners will now review both proposals and make a decision for the County within the next two weeks.

City commission receives audit report

Tom Carpenter with Mapes and Miller of Stockton was at the Stockton City Commission meeting held on Tuesday, November 22nd to present them the City’s audit report for the year ending December 31st, 2021. After he went over the numbers, the commissioners approved the report as presented with Carpenter to send the paperwork to the state.

Stockton KAY Club observes Citizenship Week

The National KAY Club Citizenship Week was observed on Sunday, November 13th through Saturday, November 19th. The Stockton High School KAY Club celebrated each day starting with Sunday, which was Serve the Family Day. The students submitted pictures of them eating a sit down meal with their family members.
THE STOCKTON HIGH SCHOOL KAY CLUB observed National KAY Club Citizenship Week on November 13th through November 19th. The members enjoyed participating in many activities throughout the weeklong event that focused on family, school, community and worthwhile organizations.

Stockton’s Olde Tyme Christmas Parade one for the books

It took months of planning with many phone calls and contacts made to organize Stockton’s 150th Birthday Celebration and Olde Tyme Christmas Parade. And all the hard work and effort by the committee paid off in a big way with Mother Nature also pitching in with a perfect night for the event.
BLAKE BALTHAZOR was all smiles as he tried to convince Santa he had been a good boy this year. Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves were kept very busy the night of Olde Tyme Christmas listening to the wish lists of all the children.

Williams Lawn and Junk Removal is a booming business

Colton Williams is the epitome of what people call a budding entrepreneur. He started his business, Williams Lawn and Junk Removal in 2019, which might not seem like a big deal to most, but factor in that he started it when he began high school, and that says a lot about his work ethic and character, and his goals for himself.
COLTON WILLIAMS didn’t wait until he finished high school to begin his business.

A little Ezra Update

Ezra Scott (4), who has chronic granulomatous, received his bone marrow transplant from his younger brother, Charlie (2 1/2), during the middle of August at the Seattle Children’s Hospital. Here is the latest update: “Ezra is doing so good!

Stockton Fire Department called for mutual aid

The Stockton Fire Department was dispatched at 4:45 this Tuesday afternoon to 2704 Road for mutual aid for a non-reported controlled burn that has gotten out of control.

More information will be printed in an upcoming issue.
