County begins sale process of Redbud Village and Estates

During the Rooks County Commission meeting held on Tuesday, March 7th, commissioners Kayla Hilbrink, Tim Berland, and John Ruder voted to approve the public sale of the County's property at 1000 South Washington Street (Redbud Village and Estates) in Plainville.

ONCE ALL OF THE PAPERWORK for the demolition of the Trading Post building was approved, it didn’t take long for the Stockton City employees to quickly take down the structure. The building has been a safety hazard to the community in the past few years.

Appraiser gives commissioners an overview of how values are set

Rooks County Appraiser Heather Poore was at the February 28th meeting with the commissioners and gave a presentation and a copy of the statutes detailing how values are set. During her Powerpoint presentation, it shows that the majority of residential sales in Rooks are within the state and County.

City has a short, but busy meeting

Quite a few items were on the agenda for the Stockton City Commission during their meeting on Tuesday, February 21st. Starting off the session was the approval of the Consent Agenda by the commissioners, which included the Solomon Valley Manor gross payroll of $60,668.

Redbud Village options discussed

Sheriff Gary Knight presented bids for new radios to the Rooks County Commissioners at their weekly meeting on Tuesday, February 21st. The commissioners approved the $87,565.62 proposal for purchasing 25 radios and equipment with the money to come out of the ARPA fund.
