The 2023 Stockton High School Homecoming event is featured in this issue of the Sentinel. A special pull-out section is devoted to individual photos of the football, volleyball, cross country, cheer and dance teams, and Homecoming royalty candidates and their sponsors.

Downtown Parade & Pep Rally at 2:30 p.m.; and crowning at 6:30 p.m. It’s Stockton’s Homecoming! The Stockton Tigers will take on the Rawlins County Buffalos in a gridiron matchup this Friday evening at Tiger Stadium.

The General Council of the Assemblies of God presented Chelsey R. Foerster with her Certificate of Ministry on August 14th. This is to certify that Chelsey has given evidence of a Divine Call to the Ministry.

With the $700,000.00 grant the City of Stockton was recently awarded from the Kansas Department of Transportation’s City Connecting Link Improvement Program (CLLIP), the funds will be combined with the $1,100,000.

On August 25th, Dr. Anthony Cole, Stockton High School science teacher, was notified that he had been selected for promotion to Colonel in the U.S.

Celebrating 30 Years!

Due to the rising cost of procuring movies for the Nova Theatre, movie ticket prices have been increased. The new prices are $7.00 for Adults, $6.00 for Children 12 and Under, FREE for Children 3 and Under, and $60.00 for Family Passes.

At the Rooks County Commission meeting on Tuesday, September 12th, the commissioners voted to terminate Rich Bouchey as road and bridge foreman and landfill foreman, effective immediately. They had held an executive session before the decision, with Bouchey in attendance during the session.

Governor Laura Kelly announced last Wednesday, September 13, that 27 cities across Kansas, including Stockton, would receive a total of $22 million for projects to improve intersections and state highways extending through towns as part of the Kansas Department of Transportation’s City Connecting...
