Body The September 28th Sentinel will include our annual Homecoming Feature, with individual pictures of the Tiger athletes (football, volleyball, and cross country), cheer, dance, and coaching staff, sponsored by local merchants, organizations, and individuals.

Laura King is chasing her dreams

Body (Laura King, a 2020 Stockton High School graduate had the opportunity to serve on an international mission team and join other students and professors from Manhattan Christian College to travel to Barcelona, Spain this summer.
LAURA enjoyed hiking and visiting the monasteries on Montserrat Mountain during her mission trip to Barcelona, Spain.

School board hires two new bus drivers

Body At the end of the USD 271 Board of Education meeting on Monday, August 14th, the members voted to hire Denae Odle and Danny Knoll as bus drivers for the District and approved the classified staff as presented. They also hired Troy Rogers as an instructional aide.

County talks roads during weekly meeting

Body The Rooks County Commission met with Roger Morris on Tuesday, August 15th, to discuss road concerns. Morris stated that Section Line to Y Road by Plainville has eleven potholes that need attention. He noted how large in circumference they were and that they were getting deeper.

Body Another former Rooks County Fair Board member has been recognized for his dedication to the board.
ROYCE MUIR (middle) was inducted into the Kansas Fairs and Festivals Hall of Fame, and was recognized for his years of service from 1984 to 2021 as a board member and president. Royce was not able to attend the annual banquet in January of this year, but received his award at the Rooks County Free Fair. Royce said it made it even more special to be able to accept the award with all his family and fair friends present. City approves SVM room rate increase

Body At the Stockton City Commission meeting, held on Tuesday, August 15th, Solomon Valley Manor Administrator Amanda Atkisson was present to review the Manor room rates, which is done on a regular basis.
