On Tuesday, March 10, at 9:50 p.m., David Earl Porter, age 65, from Beloit, was traveling east on U.S. 24 near 5 Rd., driving a 2004 Toyota Highlander, when he struck a deer. Neither he nor his two passengers were injured, but the front and passenger sides of the vehicle were damaged.

Stockton Fire Dept. answers three calls on Mon., March 23rd

Control burns that got out of control were the reasons the Stockton Fire Department answered, not one call, but three fire calls on Monday, March 23rd. The first control burn that needed assistance came in at 2:00 p.m. and was located at the 1200 block of G Road. The volunteers worked at the location for an hour, which was just in time to answer the second call at the old Stockton Airport at approximately 3:30 p.m. The volunteers worked at that site for about an hour. The last call of the day came in at 7:30 p.m. at 1640 F Road. It took a total of over two hours to control the fire before the volunteers headed back to town.

Man facing multiple charges for police/motorcycle chase

According to a press release from the Rooks County Sheriff’s Department, on Tuesday March 24, at approximately 12:12 a.m., a Rooks County Sheriff's Deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle inside the City of Plainville for a traffic violation. The motorcycle fled southbound out of the City of Plainville on Highway 183 at speeds in excess of 110 m.p.h.
