Representing Stockton High School, and set to perform at the Fort Hays State University Beach/ Schmidt Auditorium on Saturday, December 6th, are music students Katara Schreiber, Paytyn McNulty Brenna Odle, Shae Yohon, and Skylar Amlong as part of the Honor Choir.

The menus for the Walker Senior Center for the week beginning Monday, November 24, are as follows: Monday— Chicken parm over noodles, Italian blend vegetables, garlic bread, orange/pineapple salad. Tuesday—Ground beef stroganoff, broccoli, nobake cookie, bread, mixed fruit.

The October meeting of the Crossroads Quilt Guild was brought to order at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 20th, with refreshments provided by Nikki Miestrell and Linda Gardner. The Roll Call was taken and answered by nine members, with a few Showand Tell items.

Before Rooks County Commissioners Tim Berland, Jake Prockish and Tracy Rudman canvassed the votes from the General Election held on Tuesday, November 4th, they conducted business during their regular weekly meeting on Monday, November 10th.

So real, I could possibly eat my weight in tacos or a giant bowl of ice cream. All in all, it's been a Sunday full of farm life, naps, and a whole lot of 'I'm hungry.' But hey, what's better than a lazy day, some good laughs, and the hope that tomorrow's a little brighter?

This year's area fall harvest is seeing record- breaking yields for milo, corn, and beans, with more still to be harvested. As of Monday, November 17th, the totals taken in at the Stockton Farmers Union Elevator are at 521,000 bushels of milo; 63,000 bushels of beans; and 461,000 bushels of corn.

Present for the Rooks County Health Center’s regular Board of Directors meeting on September 23rd were Brad Plumer (Chair); Shelbe Darnell, DC (Vice Chair); Dan Sanchez, MD; and Jay Casey. Anna Muir (Secretary) participated via video conferencing.

The Kansas Department of Transportation announced the approval of bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects on Wednesday, November 12. The letting took place on October 22, 2025, in Topeka.
