County commissioners discuss landfill equipment and road and bridge projects

Body
Rooks County Landfill Supervisor Danny Knoll and Casey Ferguson with CAT were at the county commission meeting on Thursday, April 30th, to talk about a commercial trash compactor for the landfill. Ferguson explained how it works, stating that the 2002 model costs $315,000.00 with 3,000 hours. The commissioners noted it would be a good piece of equipment for the landfill, but the landfill's budget is mainly based on what it takes in. There is no landfill equipment reserve at this time, so Knoll will compile the numbers, check financing with local banks, and report back. The commissioners also noted that the landfill will incur scale repair expenses later in the year.

Good Sunday afternoon, everyone! Well, it seems like this weather is throwing a bit of a tantrum today. The rain is pouring down like it’s trying to wash away all our plans, which is just a nap. The thunderstorms are rolling in like a rock band, and maybe even some lightning just to keep things interesting. Honestly, it’s the perfect excuse to indulge in a good old-fashioned afternoon nap. I mean, who can resist curling up under a blanket, listening to the symphony of rain and thunder, and drifting into dreamland? I definitely did just that. My very own storm-proof snooze session before I get myself all fired up for Monday.
