'You Must Believe' from John 3:16-21 was the message title. Jesus Christ fully saves those who fully trust Him. Many people intellectually agree with the gospel, but fail to fully commit or put their full weight on Christ for salvation.

The way of the believer is not an easy road; being a Christian does not solve or remove all problems. We have seen in our study of the book of Acts that Paul served humbly and “with tears,” but he never quit, never gave up.

“What makes us happy? What helps us find the happiness we all seek?” This was the question posed to us by Fr. Brian this weekend after reading the Gospel of Matthew 5:112, which recounts Jesus' teaching on the Beatitudes.

The Council of the City of Woodston met in the Council Chamber at City Hall on Monday, January 12th, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor April Yakish called the meeting to order. Council members present were Kate Terry, Thomas Yakish, Bill Dibble, Charles O’Neill, and Larry Morgan. Kenny Lay was also present.

Jolie Kuhn of Palco was among more than 700 Emporia State University undergraduates recognized on the university's honor roll for the fall 2025 semester. Kuhn, an Elementary Education major, earned this distinction by achieving a minimum 3.

Palco USD 269 was pleased to announce that it conducted the USD 269 Spelling Bee, which went five rounds. Jessalyn Williams spelled her way to the champion speller for this year! Her winning words were 'scorcher, then 'fragments.'
