The Ash Rock Memorial Service, which was to be held on Monday, May 25th, has been cancelled for this year.

Park your cars on Main Street or stand in your doorway on Saturday, May 9th at 3:00 p.m. to celebrate with the Stockton High School Class of 2020 as they drive through the streets of Stockton on what would have been the day of their graduation! There will be a police motorcade leading the way. Come out and help them celebrate!

The other day I had a question: “What is the difference between cleaning sanitizing and disinfecting?” So after answering the question, I decided what a good article to write about this week. So here goes.

The menus for the week beginning Monday, May 11, are as follows: Monday—Chicken strips, parslied potatoes, peas, bread, pears. Tuesday—Spaghetti, green beans, bread, hot cinnamon apple slices. Wednesday—Oven-baked chicken, potato salad, tropical fruit, bread, pudding. Thursday—Little smokies, macaroni and cheese, California blend vegetables, bread, mixed fruit. Friday—Tuna salad, coleslaw, cucumbers and tomatoes, bun, rosy applesauce.

Taylor Weidenhaft, a senior at Hays High School and granddaughter of Stockton’s Joe and Pat Weidenhaft, is one of 621 students in the nation to be selected as a U.S. Presidential Scholars Program semifinalist.

The Rooks County Commission met on Tuesday, April 21st via Zoom for its regular weekly meeting. Health nurse Lori Eichman gave the commissioners an update on COVID-19, stating that the County still is at four positive cases. At the present time there were three pending cases and one that has recovered from the virus. Rooks County has tested over 60 individuals for the coronavirus.
