The Kansas Department of Agriculture announced July 15th that vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) has now been confirmed in 10 counties in Kansas.

Harry and Willardene Purdum hosted a family reunion of sorts for the July 4th weekend. Five men went to three towns and at least four fireworks stands to collect enough fireworks to entertain the family gathering all day of the 4th.

Harry and Willardene Purdum have for years made annual visits to the family grave sites in Independence, KS. and Seminole, Okla.

The Kansas Department of Transportation announces approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects in Kansas. The letting took place June 17, 2020, in Topeka. Some of the bids may include multiple projects that have been bundled based on proximity and type of work.

At the regular weekly meeting of the Rooks County Commission, Sheriff Gary Knight presented commissioners Corky Hagan and Greg Balthazor with the signed law enforcement contract with the City of Stockton. The commissioners signed the contract for the 2021 year as presented.
