The Council of the City of Woodston met in the Council Chamber at the City Hall on Monday, February 9th, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Kenny Lay called the meeting to order with council members Kate Terry, Thomas Yakish, Bill Dibble, Charles O’Neill, and Larry Morgan present.

The Crossroads Quilt Guild meeting was called to order on Monday, February 16th, with refreshments provided by everyone (potluck). Eleven members answered Roll Call. The motion was made by Linda and seconded by Janie, and carried. The Treasurer's Report was given.

Twins Cheryll Mertz, of Minneapolis, Kansas, and Darrell Rubottom, of rural Woodston, celebrated their 81st birthday two days early with a small family gathering on Saturday, March 14, at the Osborne Public Library Community Room.

The Stockton Fire Department has had a busy March, responding to a series of calls across the area. The first came on Monday, March 2nd, at 10:32 a.m., at the residence of Chad and Nancy Sterling. A grass fire ignited while iron was being cut on the property.

At the end of the meeting, two of the motions made by the Stockton School Board members were to offer teaching positions to Aydan Dill as an elementary school teacher, and Lucas Burmeister as the high school English teacher for the coming school year.

The Rooks County 4-H Council met on March 9, 2026. President Skylar called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m.
