It’s time for family fun at the annual Stockton PUMPKIN PATCH, which will pop up in the Stockton City Park located on West Highway 24, this weekend on Saturday, October 14th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Sunday, October 15th from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.
A Draconid meteor shower was at its peak across the skies during the evenings of October 6th through 10th. It was just an appetizer before the “ring of fire,” or annular solar eclipse, which will be in full glory, sweeping from Oregon to Texas on Saturday, October 14th. Sadly, the rest of the lower 48 states can only witness a partial eclipse. In Kansas, people will see a partial eclipse, which will look like a sickle-shaped or crescent-shaped sun, with people noticing a strange dimming during the daylight hours.
Friday, the 13th, starts off some spooky Halloween fun at the Nova Theatre in Stockton for the rest of October beginning with Disney’s “Haunted Mansion” on the big screen the weekend of Friday, October 13th! Then, for one week only, the Nova will show the Halloween classic “Hocus Pocus” the weekend of October 20th. And to finish off the scary fun will be “The Nightmare before Christmas,” set for the big screen during the October 27th weekend.
