Area residents are reminded to take advantage of the many garage sales happening across the county during the Rooks County Treasure Trail this Friday and Saturday.

The community is invited to enjoy great food and family-friendly fun during the upcoming Smash Burger Fundraiser on Saturday, May 2, hosted by the Stock Town Foundation and the Rooks County Historical Museum.

Rooks County Health Center will hold its Annual Meeting and Board of Trustees election on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the hospital in Plainville. Board elections run from 12:00 p.m.

The public is cordially invited to attend 'A Legacy of Leadership Celebration,' honoring the remarkable dedication and years of service of outgoing Stockton USD 271 staff members: Stacey Green, Scott Bennett, Terri Bennett, Vicki Green, and Beth Hazen.

The Stockton Junior High Awards Night and Music Concert will be held on Monday, May 4th, at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gym. Attendees are invited to celebrate the students’ achievements and enjoy an evening of wonderful music. All are welcome to attend this special event.

The menus for the Senior Centers in Rooks County for the week beginning Monday, April 27, are as follows: Monday—Tater tot casserole, mixed vegetables, bread, strawberries and bananas. Tuesday—Chicken alfredo pasta, Italian blend vegetables, garlic bread, fruit crisp.

The United States is celebrating the 250th anniversary throughout the year. National, state, and local events are being planned to commemorate the special occasion. The Rooks County Historical Society and Museum will join the American Celebration.

Mr. Bruce R. Smith of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution is expected to attend the Rooks County Historical Society’s April 26th Celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary.
