RCED Secures USDA Grant to Assist Low-Income Homeowners Countywide

Rooks County Economic Development (RCED) has secured a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to assist very low- and low-income homeowners throughout Rooks County with essential home improvements.

Any homeowner in Rooks County who meets the income and program qualifications is encouraged to submit an application.

The grant funding will assist up to five (5) qualifying homes, with awards of up to $5,000 per household. Funds may be used for a variety of eligible improvements, including:

• Structural repairs

• Weatherization

• Accessibility improvements

• Energy efficiency upgrades

• Removal of health and safety hazards 

This program is intended to help eligible homeowners maintain safe, healthy, and energy‑efficient living conditions within Rooks County.

Rooks County Economic Development began accepting applications on May 15 and will continue through noon on Friday, June 5th. Funding is limited, and applications will be reviewed based on eligibility and demonstrated need.
