Northup is 2nd, Snyder 3rd at Christmas Wrestling Classic

Seniors Carolina Northup and Saj Snyder both made the podium at the Christmas City Wrestling Classic held last Friday in WaKeeney. Northup placed second at 100 lbs., and Snyder was third at 110 lbs. Others from Stockton who competed in the season opener were: Serenity Carpenter (So. 100), Temprance Northup (Sr. 120), Mia Odle (Jr. 135), Blayke Stithem (Fr. 170), and Kourtnie Bird (So. 170). Sophomore Aidyen Kerr did not wrestle due to injury.

SHS Tigers defeated by Ellis and Thunder Ridge

The Stockton Tigers opened their basketball season last week playing two games, one away and one at home. On Monday the Stockton boys fell to Ellis on the road 68-32, and on Friday, despite a great effort, Stockton was on the losing end of the 79-65 score with visiting Thunder Ridge picking up the win.

SJH Tiger Boys defeat visiting Lincoln 34-28

There were some exciting basketball games played last Thursday in Stockton when the Lincoln Leopards came to town. After suffering a tough loss at Hill City on Monday, the Tiger boys’ A-Team regrouped and picked up a hard-fought 34-28 victory over Lincoln.

For the first time this season, the Stockton Junior High A-Team girls were defeated, losing to the Hill City Lady Ringnecks last Monday in Hill City by the score of 31-26. The A-Team boys faced a very talented Ringneck squad, and fell 73-24.

Hull taking on a new role for FHSU Athletics

Fort Hays State University Athletics recently announced Kyle Hull, a 2017 graduate of Stockton High School, was named Coordinator of Fan Experience and Special Projects at Fort Hays State University. Hull has already been working as the Ticketing Coordinator for FHSU Athletics and begins his new role immediately, which will add involvement in community outreach, marketing, sponsorships and in-game promotion, special projects and events, and relevant administrative duties to his role of overseeing all ticket operations.

SHS Basketball season opens on December 1

The 2025-26 high school basketball season will open for the Stockton Tigers on Monday, December 1, when the Tigers travel to Ellis to take on the Railroaders. This year it will only be the boys representing Stockton, as the girls didn’t have the numbers to put a team on the court.

SJH Girls defeat Sylvan-Lucas 50-16

Some exciting basketball action took place last Thursday night in Stockton with the Stockton Junior High Tiger girls scrapping their way to a 50-16 win over Sylvan-Lucas, and the Tiger boys giving it all that had, but falling by two, 33-31, to the Cougars. The JV match-ups were also nailbiters with both Stockton teams winning.
