The Stockton Tigers faced a tall task in the Northern Plains League Basketball Tournament, taking on undefeated and top-seeded Thunder Ridge on Monday in Lincoln. A strong second half by Thunder Ridge proved to be the difference as Stockton dropped a 64-46 decision.

The Stockton Tigers earned a strong opening victory in the 2026 Northern Plains League Basketball Tournament last Friday, defeating the Natoma Tigers 56-42 in a play-in matchup at Lincoln. It was the Tigers’ second win in seven days over Natoma.

The Plainville Cardinal boys delivered a statement performance last Thursday, capturing the team championship at the Hoisington Round Robin behind three individual titles and a string of dominant efforts across the lineup.

The Stockton Tigers traveled to Palco last Tuesday to face the Logan/ Palco Trojans, and after a strong start, the Tigers were unable to keep pace in the second half, falling 39-26. Stockton came out sharp in the opening quarter, battling the Trojans to a 14-14 tie.

The Stockton Junior High Tigers returned to action in impressive fashion last Thursday, sweeping the Tescott Trojans in a home doubleheader. The Lady Tigers captured a dominant 32-5 victory in A-Team action, while the B Team held on for a hard-fought 10-8 win.

The Logan/Palco Junior Trojans welcomed Northern Valley to town on Thursday, January 8, for a doubleheader with the Huskies. In girls action, both Lady Trojan squads battled hard but came up short.

The Logan/Palco basketball teams rang in the new year with a trio of road contests, opening the 2026 schedule with trips to Oberlin, Downs, and Grainfield. On Friday, January 2, the Trojans traveled to Oberlin to take on Decatur Community.

After several strong offensive performances that didn’t always translate to wins, the Stockton Tiger Boys finally broke through with their first victory of the season, defeating the Natoma Tigers 68-47 on the road.
