The Stockton Lady Tigers faced some unfamiliar competition last Saturday when they competed in the Russell Volleyball Tournament. Although the Lady Tigers won just one match, according to coach Alexa Rogers, they played well, even though they didn’t get many wins.

Stockton’s Cheyenne Hoeting and Kolt Kuhlmann both brought home medals from the cross country meets held in Smith Center last Thursday. Hoeting’s time of 25:47.97 for the 5K run was good enough for a seventh- place finish in the high school varsity girls race, while Kuhlmann won the boys’ 7th-grade, onemile race with a time of 7:39.03.

After defeating Russell in the semifinals and falling to Trego in the finals of the Trego Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, September 10, the Lady Tigers made the trek to WaKeeney just three days later to take on the two teams once again, this time in a triangular.

The Stockton Tigers were in WaKeeney last Friday where they were shut out by the Trego Golden Eagles 58-0. This week the Tigers begin district play, traveling to Hoxie to take on the Indians in a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.

Last Thursday the Stockton Junior High Tigers hosted Wilson with the Tigers coming out on top in both volleyball and football. The Lady Tigers picked up wins in the Aand B-Team matches, winning 25-12, 25-13, and 25-19, 15-25, 15-4, respectively. The C Team was defeated 17-25. On the gridiron, Stockton defeated the visitors 62-46.
