As is our custom, the Sentinel will publish on Tuesday instead of Wednesday during Fair Week, which this year runs from Sunday, August 6th through Saturday, August 12th. Postal patrons will get their newspapers a day early, and the paper will hit the newsstands on Tuesday morning.
183 Lanes in Stockton will be open on Monday through Thursday (August 7th through August 10th) from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday during the Rooks County Free Fair week. There will be no bowling during the fair!
Come support the Rooks County youth at the 4-H and FFA Livestock Sale on Friday, August 11th. The event will be held at the Sutor-Blauer Arena at the Rooks County Fairgrounds. The Buyers’ Hospitality Hour will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the sale to start promptly at 6:00 p.m.
Make plans now to participate in the 4-H Silent Food Auction to be held during the Rooks County Free Fair. The ten items for auction will be on display in Harding Hall and ready for bids by Monday evening, August 7th.
The menus for the week of Monday, July 31, are as follows: Monday—Chicken fried chicken, mashed ptoatoes and gravy, green beans, bread, strawberries. The menus for August were not made available prior to press time.
The Nova Theatre in Stockton will show the movie “Sound of Freedom” (rated PG-13) this weekend during its regular show times at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28th; Saturday, July 29th; and Sunday, July 30th.
