The menus for the week beginning Monday, May 10th, are as follows: Monday—Tater tot casserole, beets, bread, tropical fruit. Tuesday—Goulash, broccoli, bread, hot cinnamon apple slices. Wednesday—Turkey in gravy, mashed potatoes, asparagus, bread, rosy pears.

Week of May 10th Breakfast Monday—Breakfast stick, fruit, juice, milk. Tuesday—Cook’s Choice, fruit, juice, milk.

In honor of Armed Forces Day, the Stockton VFW Post 8873 will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, May 15th from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. On the menu are pancakes, eggs, sausage links, coffee, juice and milk with the price set at $5.00 per person.

There will be a regular USD 271 Board of Education meeting on Monday, May 3, 2021, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the board office in Stockton.

The community is invited to attend the 2021 SHS Awards Night, scheduled for Thursday, May 6th at 7:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Stockton High School Gymnasium.

Yes, Toto, we are in Kansas and with a nod to the tornado season that is upon us the Nova Theatre will be showing the movie classic “The Wizard Of Oz” on the big screen this weekend, April 30th through May 3rd! Regular show times will be at 7:00 p.m.

The Stockton High School Baccalaureate will be held at the historic Nova Theatre on Wednesday, May 5th at 7:00 p.m. During the event, Roger Cooper will be sharing before a slideshow of the seniors is shown. Jeff Riener will be the MC.

It’s time for the 12th annual Spring Shootout Demo Derby set for this Saturday, May 1st at the Rooks County Fairgrounds! The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the pit gates to open at 4:30 p.m.

Funky Junky’s Thrift and Collectibles, located at 506 East Main in Stockton, is now open on Sundays from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. Their regular weekday hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays. Good things come to those who thrift, so check out this unique store!
