CASA of the High Plains is inviting local youth to participate in a community-wide coloring contest this April in recognition of Child Abuse Awareness Month.

As Easter approaches, Rooks County congregations are throwing open their doors to welcome worshippers, neighbors, and visitors alike. From candlelit Good Friday vigils to joyful sunrise services, there is something meaningful for everyone this Holy Week.

It's going to be a hopping good time at the Sigma Phi ESA Easter Egg Hunt in Stockton on Saturday, April 4th! Grab your baskets and be ready to collect lots of eggs and goodies at the Solomon Valley Manor at 1:00 p.m. for children ages 1-4! Then head on down to the Lower City Park for the 1:30 p.m.

The annual Solomon Valley Pheasants Forever Banquet will be held on Saturday, April 11th at the St. Thomas Parish Center (804 Main Street) in Stockton.

The Easter Bunny is working overtime and has delivered dozens of colorful eggs and plenty of candy for an Easter Egg Hunt at the Zurich School Yard this Saturday, April 4th, at 10:30 a.m. Please bring your own basket to collect all the goodies you will find!

After 25 years of dedicated service to Rooks County, Economic Development Director Roger Hrabe will be honored with a come-and-go retirement reception on Monday, March 30. The reception will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Get ready with your popcorn and pop for the premiere of 'Super Mario Galaxy Movie' at the McKenna Theatre in Palco when the Youth Center opens it on Wednesday, April 1st at 7:00 p.m. Since the movie will be shown on Easter Weekend, the showtime line up is a little different than usual.

Serving up regular or blueberry pancakes, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and biscuits & gravy will be the Palco Lions Club members at their upcoming Pancake Feed. This delicious event will be held on Sunday, March 29th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

There will be a government surplus commodities distribution on Monday, March 23rd in Stockton. The distribution will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
