Rooks County Treasure Trail debuts next weekend, Friday, May 1st & Saturday, May 2nd
Deadline for sending your listing is Mon., April 27th
What began nearly 30 years ago as Plainville’s Garage Sale Saturday—and grew into the popular Plainville Area-Wide Garage Sales—is making a comeback, bigger and better than ever. This year, it’s getting a fresh new name and an expanded reach: welcome to the Rooks County Treasure Trail! The event will be held over the weekend of Friday, May 1, and Saturday, May 2.
This year, the fun isn’t just for Plainville — communities across all of Rooks County are invited to get in on the action. Whether you’re a seasoned seller looking to clear out the clutter or a dedicated bargain hunter ready to hit the road, the Rooks County Treasure Trail has something for everyone. You never know what hidden gem is waiting around the next corner!
“Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve heard from a number of people hoping the Sentinel-Times would step up and carry on the tradition of the Plainville Garage Sales — a community staple that got its start with the Plainville Times,” said co-owner Susan Schneider. “We’re excited to do just that. We know we’re a little late to the game this year, but we’re committed to making it even better in 2026. We also want this to be accessible to everyone, which is why we’ve kept the cost as low as possible — ads start at just $2.50 for a 25-word minimum.”
“Because the Sentinel- Times serves all of Rooks County, it only made sense to open this event up to every community in the county,” added Schneider. “So if you’ve got treasures collecting dust and taking up space, this is your chance to find them a new home — and maybe put a little money in your pocket while you’re at it.”
