The Woodston community population grew considerably this past weekend with the estate sales of Betty Vanderlip and Jack Imel. These can be fun events, renewing past acquaintances and visiting with neighbors, but also bringing sad memories. The Cletus Graf auction on Saturday morning also drew a good-sized crowd. Sterling and Sheila Melton, Naper, Nebraska, were here for the auction and had supper Saturday evening with Steve and Linda Melton at Kensington. Sheila is managing the nursing home at Butte and took some vacation time.

Daniel (Ralph Macchio) moves to southern California with his mother, Lucille (Randee Heller), but quickly finds himself the target of a group of bullies who study karate at the Cora Kaidogo. Fortunately, Daniel befriends Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki "Pat" Morital) an unassuming repairman who just happens to be a martial arts master himself. Miyagi takes Daniel under his wings, training him in a more compassionate form of karate and preparing him to compete against the brutal Cobra Kai.
