The Stockton City Commission met on Tuesday, November 16th for its regular meeting with commissioners Reesa Brown, Jesica Kerr, Nathan Glendening, Adam Bryant and Bob Becker, as well as manager/clerk Courtney Flower and assistant city clerk Kayla Hilbrink in attendance.

AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers serving through the Fort Hays State University Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs give to others by offering vital support to people in need.

The Barton Community College Foundation presents scholarships each year from funds received through its fundraising events, endowments and annual scholarship gifts. For the 2021-22 academic year, the Foundation selected Logan Nuss of Plainville as one of its scholarship recipients.

Former Plainville High School graduate Travis Roy Dixon is one of 693 students who completed associate, bachelor, or graduate degrees at Fort Hays State University in the summer 2021 term.

The family of Art and Mae Wilkens of Stockton is requesting a Card Shower to honor them on their 65th Wedding Anniversary. The Wilkenses would love to hear from all those they have known throughout the years of living in northwest and central Kansas, as well as southern Nebraska.

Laurissa Jane Marcotte, and Austin Patrick Feathers, both of Loveland, Colo., were united in marriage on on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Sarah Smith Chapel at YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colo. was the site of the 6:30 p.m. ceremony, which was performed by Reverend Greg Bunton.

Bill Fleming, Springfield, Mo.: “Our granddaughter, Katie, started every softball game from her freshman year through her senior year. She now holds records for most runs and most steals.” Mayor Judy Cantor called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Heather Melton and Alexander King were married Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the Kiowa County Fairgrounds in Greensburg, Kan., by officiant Alex Cox. The bride is the daughter of Doug Melton of Stockton and Mary and TC Dawson of Greensburg.
