* A rural water proposal compromise had been presented to the city council and rural water users at the meeting by council member Paul Hancock. Hancock's proposal was implemented to address problems arising from protests by water users who objected to the City's $7.

* The Plainville Fire Department purchased a tanker fire truck from Midwest Fire in conjunction with Hays Fire Equipment for $206,441.00. The City encumbered $3,416,00 for its matching funds that came out of the Equipment Reserve Fund. They also purchased six 800 MGH hand-held radios.

* Charles I. Sparks, judge of the 34th Judicial District has announced his candidacy for the position again and is asking for a re-election of the office.
