From 15 Years Ago 2011 * The Plainville City Council had signed Resolution #144, approving working with USDA Rural Development to fund a receiver box for a storm siren for the City of Plainville.

* And So They Say: Gisela Eckart: 'We are all going to have to pay more taxes when they scare everyone out of smoking and we have to make up what we get in cigarette tax revenue.

Stockton's fire and ambulance building had gotten a new facelift, with new paint, cable TV, and murals. The City wells were being upgraded with a new electrical system.

* Mr. Williams, one of the drillers at the Bemis well, had a very severe accident last week when he was hit across the head by a piece of pipe.

* The flu, or variations of it, was hitting Plainville in full force. Reports from local schools and the Plainville Rural Hospital indicated that the bug was spreading.

* The Plainville High School's Winter Glacade King and Queen were Cole Werner and Sara Crawford. * The Plainville thirdgrade class received a Standard of Excellence in Math and Reading; the fourthgrade class received it in Math and Science, and the eighth-grade class received it in Reading.
