Rooks County got another producing well on Saturday when a well estimated at 60 barrels was brought in on the old Bird Low place, eight miles north of Stockton. Gillespie and Hess own the well.

All of the Stockton Junior High sixth-grade students met their AR goal, so for a reward, they participated in a dodgeball tournament and ended the afternoon of fun with a game of kickball.

After the Pledge of Allegiance was recited at the January 6th Plainville City Council meeting, the Consent Agenda was approved. The Agenda included the December 18th regular meeting minutes, bills totaling $101,383.16, and the KDHE drawdown #18 and the EBH invoice for $25,901.00.

* Last Tuesday night, the Chamber of Commerce met at the town hall for its regular session and to elect officers for the 1926 year. Officers elected were as follows: president John McClay, vice president George Moore, secretary George Westhusin, and treasurer Earl Gillespie.

* Senator Jerry Moran was officially sworn in on January 5th by vice president Joseph Biden in the Senate Chamber of the U. S.capital.Hewasescorted by Senator Pat Roberts, and Governor-elect Sam Brownback. Moran was replacing Brownback, who retired from the Senate.

Ralph Imler, who took the petrified animal skull, which was recently found on Sand Creek, to Hays for identification by Professor Sternberg, reports that it has been identified as a prehistoric buffalo belonging to the species Bison Latifrons.
