Enjoy the Rooks County Free Fair! The Nova Theatre in Stockton will be closed this weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 8th, 9th, and 10th) so everyone can enjoy the Rooks County Free Fair! (Look for the ad on Page 3A) .

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Ford Escape driven by 17-yearold Onna Jorge-Thelisma of Pittsburg, Kansas, was westbound on 515th Avenue just east of S 240th Street. The driver attempted to drive through an active railroad crossing arm. A southbound train struck the SUV.
