The residences from Elm to Pine Street in Stockton were without water for about five hours on Wednesday, April 29th when the City worked on a broken water main on the corner of North Elm and Main Street.

The Beach Family Foundation, Derby, has awarded Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas (DSNWK) a $21,150 grant.

At the Rooks County Commission meeting held on Thursday, April 30th through Zoom, the commissioners received a COVID-19 update from health nurse Lori Eichman. At the time of the meeting, Eichman reported that there were only six positive cases in Rooks County, with three already recovered.

As predicted, the State of Kansas saw a decrease in total tax collections when compared to April of Fiscal Year 2019.

Kansas exports totaled $11.6 billion in 2019, up 0.25 percent over 2018. Nationally, U.S. exports experienced a 1.25 percent decline during the same period.

In a media release last Wednesday, April 29th, a mobile COVID-19 testing initiative has been launched in Kansas to set up drive-thru sites in certain communities that haven’t had access to testing—one of which includes Rooks County.

As part of the re-opening phase of COVID-19, the Rooks County Commissioners voted to open the courthouse starting Monday, May 11th with limited access in place. The east and west doors will be open, with taxpayers to be signed in by the staircase so the ten-person regulation can be monitored.
