City donates to annual Spring Livestock Show

At the regular meeting of the Stockton City Commission, held on Tuesday, March 3rd, the commissioners voted to donate $1,500.00 out of the transient sales tax fund to the 23rd annual Spring Livestock Show that will be held on the Sunday of Memorial Weekend. Leonard Bristow was at the meeting to ask for sponsorship from the City. The show allows the 4-H and FFA kids an opportunity to show their livestock prior to the Rooks County Free Fair. There will be two great learning opportunities available to area businesses the fourth week of March in Rooks County. The workshops have been put together by Rooks County Economic Development and Rooks County E-Community to help business people work not only “in” their business, but also “on” their business.

Tiger Boys are State Bound!

For the first time since 2015, the Stockton Tiger Boys are bound for the KSHSAA Class 1A State Basketball Tournament after defeating the Greeley County Jackrabbits 51-33 in the finals of the substate tourney at Russell on Saturday. The Tigers (14-11) are the eighth seed at State and will face topseeded and undefeated Elbing-Berean Academy (25-0) this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the United Wireless Arena in Dodge
