New electric generator for Stockton

On Tuesday, July 27th, the City of Stockton received the delivery of the new C175-16 Caterpiller Generator Set. The generator is a 4376-brake horsepower V-16 diesel engine which is rated at 3100 kwh per hour. This will cover Stockton’s electric load 95% of the time by itself.
1. HESS CRANE had the monumental task of moving the City’s new generator as close to the building opening as it could get. Since the ten thousand pound battery was not installed at the time the generator was being moved, the weight of the unit was off center making the crane operator slowly move the generator a little at a time before adjusting the chains until it was successfully set down on rollers for the next phase of the installment process.
