#New Farm Wife Chronicles

Happy Sunday evening from McReynolds Farms! I’ve finally made it back home after a week in Basehor, Kansas, at my Aunt Kay’s. Now, Aunt Kay was fresh out of a short hospital stay, and apparently, she was a little disappointed the hospital wasn’t a fancy hotel with room service and unlimited Jell-O.

“We saw his star at its rising and have come to do him homage.” This past Sunday, Epiphany Sunday, the star of the Gospel reading from Matthew 2:1-12 is literally the star! That star still captures our imagination, as it should. It represents something divine and historic -- especially this week.

Great weather for First Day Hike at Plainville Lake

Body
A small number turned out for Prairie Frontier Trails’ guided First Day Trail Hikes on the Trails at Plainville Township Lake January 1. While the morning was chilly, day temperatures were pleas-ant for the turning of the year. Many regular trail users were out on the trail throughout the day. The 11:45 a.m. guided hike was attended by four walkers with others on the trail. No one showed for the 5:45 p.m. hike despite the beautiful sunset. No count was made of the 6:15 a.m. hike, because trail host Bret Greenwood overslept. For more information about area trail development, visit pftrails.org.
