Three SHS Lady Tigers place first at Nickerson

The Stockton Lady Tigers let their presence be known last Friday at the Nickerson Invitational, with Carolina Northup (100), Ashlyn Hahn (125) and Rivver Long (190) each placing first in their respective classes. Also placing at the Invitational were Shae Yohon (155) 6th, Mia Odle (115) 7th, and Temprance Northup (120) 8th.

Palen recognized for officiating leadership

The National Federation of High School and Kansas State High School Activities Association recently announced that Rodney Palen was named the National Federation Officials Association (NFOA) Active Official Award for Section 5. Section 5 includes the states of Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

No shot clock at Stockton…yet!

Although the Kansas State High School Activities Association approved the 35-second shot clock on a trial basis for the 2024-25 basketball season, Stockton will not be participating in the trial as reported in last week’s Sentinel.

SHS Tiger basketball season resumes after postponement

With the Northern Plains League Basketball Tournament, as well as the ensuing game last Friday with Natoma being canceled due to the weather, the Tiger high school basketball teams were idle all week. They resumed their regular schedule this Tuesday when they hosted Northern Valley.

Lowry places sixth at Beloit Invitational

Emerson Lowry, wrestling at 144 lbs., was a sixthplace finisher at the Beloit Invitational which was held last Friday and Saturday in Beloit. Lowry won his first two matches by decision, but was defeated his next three, with two being by decision, and the other on a 13-12 sudden victory.

Tiger girls place fourth at Hays Prairie Classic

Four Tiger wrestlers made the podium last Saturday en route to their fourth-place finish in the Hays Girls Prairie Classic held at Hays High. Ashlyn Hahn (125) placed first, Carolina Northup (100) was second, Rivver Long (190) finished in third, and Mia Odle (115) was fourth.

Balthazor and Young place third at Oberlin

Stockton’s boys traveled to Oberlin on Saturday for the Buzz Matson Wrestling Tournament at which Cameron Balthazor (126) and Zach Young (190) each placed third. Also competing and placing fourth were Emerson Lowry (144) and Ryan Mongeau (285). All four Tigers made the podium.
