Last Tuesday the Stockton Lady Tigers hosted Hoxie and Phillipsburg in a triangular, their only home match of the season. Stockton played Hoxie in the first match of the evening and fell 7-25 in the first set, and 21-25 in the second set, after leading 14-7 early.

It was a beautiful night for football and fans were excited to be back in the stands at Tiger Stadium last Friday night for the 2022 football season opener against Logan/ Palco. The Stockton Tigers played hard and held their opponents in check throughout the first quarter, trailing just 6-0 at its end, following a late touchdown run by Rhett Kats.

Last week’s SHS Tiger Football signature ad, which included the 2022 roster, was missing a name. Ryan Mongeau, a 5’7”, 280-lb.

Coach Matt Perry’s last year at Stockton was the 1997-98 school year. His 1997 Tiger football team was featured in Day 8 of his “31 Days of Football.” “Day 8 | The 1997 Stockton Tigers football team once again had high expectations and a good group of seniors who I had the pleasure of coaching and teaching for four years.

The Stockton Junior High Tigers kicked off their season last Thursday when they traveled to Trego to take on the Golden Eagles. The Tigers were able to put 38 points on the scoreboard, but fell in the end by the score of 84-38. This week Stockton will be at home, hosting Ellis at 6:00 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.

The Stockton Junior High Volleyball Team traveled to Ellis on Monday, August 29, for triangular action with Trego and the host Lady Railers. Stockton’s A Team was defeated by Ellis 25-23, 12-25, 11-15, and also fell to Trego 15-25, 22-25. In B-Team action, Stockton downed Ellis 28-26, 25-22, but lost to Trego 12-25, 10-25.

The Stockton Junior High Lady Tigers were in WaKeeney last Thursday to take on the Trego Lady Eagles. Although there were some close matches, the Lady Tigers were defeated at all levels. The A Team fell 22-25, 17-25; B Team lost 18-25, 9-25; and the C Team was defeated 16-25; 19-25.
