New year, new calendars

Body
New year, new calendars One of my favorite things about New Year’s Day is hanging up new calendars, and marking birthdays, anniversaries and other special days for the year ahead. A few years ago, I sent a check of support to a nature conservancy foundation, and ever since, I’ve gotten a stack of letters—and ultimately calendars—from organizations begging for my support.

From: Kay Morris-Brodzik 785-203-0105 417 South 5th St Stockton, KS 67669 Regarding the USD 271 Board Meeting December 13, 2021 I wasn't there, but I heard from several people who were there it was a pretty brutal hour and 20 minute interrogation. Some could call it pure bullying.

This and That

Body
THIS AND THAT * Is it spring yet? * Not going to lie, Candace Cameron-Bure’s Hallmark Christmas movie this year was a tad disappointing. * I will not be watching the sequel to “Hocus Pocus.” * Who remembers K-Mart Blue Light Specials? * I read this and it made me laugh….“My Roomba just beat me to an M&M that I accidently dropped on the floor.

White Christmas

Body
Perhaps no other voice signals the beginning of the Christmas season like that of Bing Crosby. In fact, many people think that Christmas just isn’t Christmas until they have heard Crosby sing “White Christmas.” In a very sincere and simple manner, this carol seems to say more with fewer words than anything ever written about holidays in America.

This ‘n That

Body
THIS AND THAT * This hardly ever happens to me… that’s when the stars and planets in the universe align exactly for something I have been looking for or wanting for a long time. Well, guess what!? It happened to me just the other day and I have to let you all know about it! First off, it wasn’t for something big, it was actually a CD I have been wanting for a long time.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Body
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer In 1938, as the Great Depression wound down and even as the prospect of better times loomed on the horizon, Bob May was looking toward another bleak Christmas. As an advertising copywriter for Montgomery Wards, May lived on a meager salary and was on the brink of bankruptcy and exhaustion.

The Christmas Song

Body
One of the most famous modern-day Christmas songs was written on one of the hottest California days on record. Yet, there’s something about hearing Nat King Cole singing “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire” that tells me Christmastime is here!

Christmas Is Just Around The Corner!

CHRISTMAS IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER! * Everyone I know loves to watch the Hallmark Christmas movies, me included. But it wasn’t until this year that I made a discovery as to which ones are my favorite movies and why.
