Robert P. (Bob) Chesney, age 92, of Hays, passed away August 16, 2021, at Via Christi Village in Hays.

He was born February 17, 1929, in Paradise, Kansas to Kent Loyal and Hazel (Day) Chesney. He married Verla L. Meyers on June 4, 1950. She died August 10, 1961. He married Judith A. (Weigel) Pfannenstiel on July 3, 1989.

He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays and a former member of Sacred Heart Church in Plainville, Kansas. He was a graduate of Woodston High School and Kansas State University with a two-year curriculum in agriculture.

Former Rooks County resident, Robert P. "Bob" Chesney, age 92, of Hays, passed away Monday, August 16, 2021 in Hays.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2021, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays. A Rosary Service will be at 9:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Memorial visitation will be Friday at 9:00 a.m. until Rosary time at the church. 

Inurnment will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Woodston Cemetery, Woodston, Kansas. 

Ila Belle (Dibble) Hoar, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Redbud Estates, Plainville, at the age of 93.

She was born on the family homestead in Osborne County, Kansas, on April 14th, 1928, the last child of Arthur and Euphamie (Brittain) Dibble.

She graduated from Woodston Rural High School in 1946, and then she completed her teaching certification at Fort Hays State College. She taught for two years at country schools, first at Liberty Bell, and then at Valley, just down the road from where she grew up.

Annette Benoit, age 83, of Damar, Kansas, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.

She was born June 30, 1938, in Damar to Oliver and Mary (Morin) Brin.

While growing up, Annette enjoyed babysitting for the neighbor’s children, helping with her family’s garden, and baking. After high school graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard Benoit, on May 21, 1956, in Damar. They were fortunate enough to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary this past May with their family.

Timothy T. Slansky entered into rest in the comfort of his home with family by his side on August 18, 2021, following an illness. 

Tim was born in Plainville, Kan. on March 4, 1966, to Roy D. and E. Eloise (Hammond) Slansky.

On Thursday, August 19, 2021, Gary Allen Ernest, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather of Copley, Ohio, passed away at the age of 85.

Jimmie Rae Kuhlmann passed away August 17, 2021, at the Good Samaritan in Hays, Kansas at the age of 75.

Carol Mae Winklepleck, Edmond, Okla., joined our Lord in Heaven on Sunday, August 15th, 2021, at the Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side.

She was born November 14, 1943, in Quinter, Kansas to Homer and Rachel Courtney.

Robert E. Henry passed away on August 16, 2021, at the Johnson County Healthcare Center in Buffalo, Wyoming, at the age of 64 years, after a courageous battle with cancer.  

Private family services will be held at a later date in Kansas. A Celebration of Life and reception will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Pastor Paul Gilbert officiating.  

Ruby Bell (Palmer) Seaman Bedore was born June 10, 1925, on a farm near Woodston, Kansas and departed this life August 16, 2021. She was the second daughter and one of five children of George A. and Mabel M. (Walker) Palmer.
