Former Plainville resident Brad Dee Fredrickson, age 61, of Kansas City, Kan., passed away on Wednesday, September 29th, 2021, at his home.

John R. Paulson, 92, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at United Regional Health Care System in Wichita Falls, Texas.  

Marva Lee Doud passed away on September 27, 2021, at Solomon Valley Manor in Stockton, at the age of 96.

She was born on September 26, 1925, to Lorenzo Rea and Mary Delina (Netherland) Zeigler in rural Rooks County, KS. She was married to John William Doud on November 24, 1951, in Salina. They were blessed with one daughter, Barbara Su. 

Lyle Lew “Red” Dunning arrived in Gloryland on September 15, 2021.

Lyle was born on June 17, 1943 in Webster, Kansas to his parents, Ray and Lula (Folsom) Dunning. He grew up in Webster and Stockton, in a large family, the fifth of eight children—Duane, David, Larry Gale, Loren, Nola, Alan, and Merl.

Richard John Schleicher, age 24, Stockton, passed away on September 16, 2021, in Echo, Oregon from a tragic car accident while traveling to a bull riding event.

Carolyn Ann Wilkerson, Plainville, passed away on September 13, 2021, at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, at the age of 73.

She was born on May 23, 1948, to Victor and Henneritta (Befort) Younger in Hays. She was married to Gary Wilkerson on February 27, 1971, in Ellis Co. They were blessed with two sons: Eric and Wesley.

Donald M. Desaire, Sr., age 79, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away September 8, 2021 at the VA Medical Center in Cheyenne.

He was born April 23, 1942 in Damar, Kansas to Leo and Violeta Deloris Desaire. He married Nancy Lee Harp on October 21, 1961 in Dallas, Texas. He was a veteran, having served in the US Air Force and was the chief housing inspector for the Housing Authority for the City of Loveland, Colorado.  He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Loveland.

John Riener, age 42, of Atwood, Kan., passed away Sept. 4, 2021, in Phillipsburg, Kan.

He was born March 10, 1979, at McCook Community Hospital to Karol and Patricia (Marintzer) Riener. John graduated from Herndon High School in 1997, Colby Community College in 1999, and Northwest Kansas Area Vocational Technical School in 2000. On May 10, 2008, he married Keri Waterman. To this union, two children, Barrett and Josie, were born. John was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Atwood, Kan.

Jackie Miles Warren left this world at Redbud Village in Plainville on September 3, 2021, at the age of 85.

He was born on January 17, 1936, to Miles A. Warren and Ruth M. (McCauley) Warren at the Warren Family Farm in Northern Ellis County, Kansas, with “Dr. Pete” AC Petterson assisting.

Leon John Hammerschmidt, Plainville, passed away on his 80th birthday on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Redbud Village in Plainville.

From the humblest of beginnings, Leon was born on August 31, 1941 in rural Victoria, Kansas to Joe and Matilda Hammerschmidt, the fifth of 13 children. He grew up on a farm in a small, three-bedroom farmhouse. He attended school and only completed 8th grade before he went to work in the oilfield to help support and provide for his siblings and parents.
