A new book, Kansas and Kansans in World War I, published by the University Press of Kansas, describes how residents of Rooks County and other Kansans participated in World War I.

From deer collisions to hit-and-runs, the seven accident reports from the Rooks County Sheriff’s Department illustrate the unpredictable nature of road incidents. The first happened on Monday, June 1, at 7:38 a.m.
