The Rooks County Free Fair is just a few days away!

The most anticipated event of the year in Rooks County is upon us!

The Rooks County Free Fair, which runs from Sunday, August 4th, through Saturday, August 10th, is a full week of exciting activities and fun for both young and old.

This year’s grandstand events will start with the IMCA Series Races on Sunday, August 4th, at 6:00 p.m.

Then, on Monday, August 5th, there will be another thrilling night of IMCA racing, along with the Dirt Crown Summer Race Series IMCA Stock Cars, starting at 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices for the car races are $20.00, with Children 6 and under FREE.

On Tuesday night, August 6th, there will be Purple Ribbon RC Racing, and the Free Ranch Rodeo (Frank Smith Arena). Both will start at 7:00 p.m.

On Wednesday night, August 7th, in the Grandstand infield, the Fair will hold its new event, the Barnyard Brew Fest, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Check out all the details on the Rooks County Free Fair website.) This is sure to become a fun annual event!

The Peterson Farm Brothers will perform in the Grandstand on Thursday, August 8th, at 7:00 p.m., and tickets are $5.00.

The Xtreem Flat Track Motorcycle Races, starting at 7:00 p.m. each night, will end the week in the Grandstand on Friday, August 9th, and Saturday, August 10th. Ticket prices are $15.00, and children 6 & Under are FREE.

What would a fair be without a Carnival? So get ready for the Pride of Texas Shows Carnival, which will be on the grounds from Wednesday through Saturday, beginning at 6:00 p.m. each evening for everyone to enjoy! Armbands are $30.00 a night and will be sold at the carnival ticket booths.

The lineup of live music during the evening under the Solutions North Bank (SNB) Pavilion stars off with Don Wagner & Friends on Wednesday night, Wes Cossman Band on Thursday night, Paramount on Friday night, and Kill Creek Rising on Saturday night. The bands will perform from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Plus, there are many morning and afternoon activities throughout the week for everyone to enjoy! The Tallest Corn Plant Contest will be held from 9:00 a.m. to noon in the Open Class Building on Monday afternoon.

The Lego Challenge Build will be on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. under the SNB Pavilion.

Wednesday, the ever- popular Bingo will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. under the SNB Pavilion, ending with the Watermelon Feed at 4:00 p.m. The Youth Pet Parade will be at the Sutor-Blauer Arena at 5:30 p.m. The Corn Hole Tournament will be held in the Grandstand infield, and registration will be held at 6:30 p.m. The tournament will start at 7:00 p.m.

Thursday will have an Ag Storytime in McCaslin Hall at 4:00 p.m. Then, on Friday, the 4-H Livestock Sale will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Sutor-Blauer Arena.

During the weekday afternoons, check out what’s on display in the 4-H and Open Class buildings.

Take in all the livestock, flowers, wheat, vegetables, crafts, sewing, cooking, photography, art, and more! Commercial Vendors will be open daily from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in McCaslin Hall, and there will be plenty of food stands scattered around the grounds to entice you in for a hamburger, sno cone, Frito pie, or barbeque!

Season Passes for the grandstand entertainment can be purchased at the Fair Office. They are $60.00 for Adults, and Children 6 and under are FREE. Advance tickets can be purchased at www.rookscountyfreefair. com or the Fair Office.

Season passes cannot be used at the pit gate and are non-refundable.
