Bonnie Rubottom of Woodston was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Rubottom was initiated at Kansas State University.

At the April Stockton USD 271 Board meeting, it was announced that grade school teacher Jen Kesler and high school teacher Shane Austin were nominated to represent Stockton for the 2021 Kansas Teacher of the Year Program.

At the regular meeting of the Stockton City Commission held on Tuesday, April 7th, the commissioners approved Resolution 20-4 dealing with the emergency declaration for COVID-19 protocol.

After two executive sessions were held near the end of the Stockton USD No. 271 Board of Education meeting held on Monday, April 6th, the board members voted to accept the resignation of band instructor Kayla Hockett at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

Once again, the Rooks County Health Department has confirmed its second presumptive-positive case of COVID-19 in Rooks County. The case was identified Tuesday, April 7, with testing sent to QUEST Diagnostic on April 6, 2020.

In an effort to protect the health of Kansans and prevent the spread of COVID- 19, Governor Laura Kelly, with the support of the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT), is suspending sales of general nonresident turkey permits effective immediately.
