We use the word “love” a lot today. We talk about loving food, loving an activity, or loving a sunset. But what does it really mean to love? The word seems to have lost some of it’s meaning when it is used so casually.

Joan’s niece, Jackie Eck from Redmond, Oregon, was a houseguest at the Balderston home during the middle of July. Jackie arrived on Monday evening, July 12 and visited with Joan and other family and friends until Saturday. On Wednesday Joan had a luncheon for Jackie, along with two other of her nieces, Susan Nichols from Nebraska, and Linda O’Conner from Hays, as well as Jackie’s childhood friend Anna Schremmer. All four of the ladies also enjoyed lunch at Trio in Hays on Thursday. Susan then stayed until Saturday with the ladies enjoying the remainder of the week touring the cemetery, Webster Lake, the old home place, and having a delightful time when they went out to Marion Conyac’s farm. This was Jackie’s first trip back to Stockton in 30 years.

Woodston News

Body
Several weeks ago, we had striped caterpillars on the dill plants. I always believed these were the ones eating the plants and would be monarch butterflies. Later I read an article that stated they would be black swallowtail butterflies and were laying their eggs on the dill. It also stated monarchs only feed on milkweed plants.
