The season openers for pheasant and quail are upon us and good prospects are in the offing as hunters enter the field. An article detailing those prospects was published in a recent article of the Sentinel.

As of Monday, November 1st, the harvest of soybeans in the area is done. The Farmers Union Elevator in Stockton took in 133,000 bushels and the Woodston Coop took in 190,000 bushels. This is a little over 20% more than last year’s crop.

The Dedication of the Veterans Memorial at the Stockton City Cemetery will be held on Thursday, November 11th at 2:00 p.m. This memorial, which was spearheaded by the VFW Auxiliary, will mark the veterans area of the cemetery and will be a lasting tribute to all those that served our country.

The Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce membership meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 9th at Farmers National Bank. Social time will begin at 5:15 p.m. and the meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. Olde Tyme Christmas will be discussed. See you there!

Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce for the State of Kansas, David Toland, came to Stockton on Friday, Oct. 29, and met with Stockton City Commissioner Bob Becker at the city office.

The Hobart Homemakers FCE group met Monday, October 25, 2021, at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Stockton. Janie opened with the flag salute. The roll call was, "What is your favorite thing about fall?" It was answered by seven members.
