THE AFTERMATH OF THE FOUR COUNTY FIRE, DECEMBER 15, fanned by 100 MPH wind in Ellis, Rooks, Osborne, and Russell counties continue to bring tears in the devastating loss of farms and ranches.

The Rooks County Health Department is NOT closing. It continues to provide all the services as it has in the past. The ONLY thing not continuing is the Medicare certified in-home health services, as was reported in the December 23rd issue of the Stockton Sentinel.

The annual Parade of Christmas Trees at the Stockton Public Library has come to a close with many creative trees on display this year. People voted for their favorites throughout the month of December and the winners were recently announced as follows:

The New Year’s Day snow definitely changed our routine and made caring for livestock in the cold a struggle. Just putting on all the winter gear and navigating can be exhausting. Dan Melton came Friday to help wean calves and bring them home as the temperature steadily dropped.

Dee and Sheila Latham of Stockton enjoyed having family visit in their home during the holidays. Guests Christmas week included their son and family, Lance and Sue Latham, Carson and Emma Latham from Tulsa,Okla.
