The regular monthly meeting of the Crossroads Quilt Guild was held on Monday, June 20th, 2022 at Stitch and Chatter. We had 19 members attending. Hostesses were Betty Bedore and Elaine Hrabe. Minutes from last month were read and a motion was made by Linda Stamper to approve them.

Kaitlyn Kriley and Mary Smith, both of Stockton, have been named to the President’s List for the spring 2022 semester at Washburn University. To qualify for the President’s List, a student must complete at least 12 hours of graded credits and earn a semester grade point average of 4.0.

Terry Odle: “When I moved to Salina in 1968, the county commission, city commission, and school board were made up of all white men. Gradually that has changed to the majority of them now being women, black people and brown people. They are much better commissions today.“

Trey Kuhlmann of Stockton and Noah Hansen of Plainville are two of more than 4,120 Kansas State University students earning semester honors for their academic performance in the spring 2022 semester. Students earning a grade point average for the semester of 3.

The June Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce membership meeting was held on Tuesday, June 14th at The Sunflower Shed.

PROGRESS CONTINUES on the construction of the new Solomon Valley Manor building as the outside walls go up and the roof material is laid down. This is a picture of the building facing east giving everyone an idea of how the finished product will look.

On May 25, at almost 8:30 p.m., Kylee Jo Ashbaugh, 24, of Ellis, was southbound on 3 Rd., a half-mile south of Y Rd., when she struck a cow. Ashbaugh, who was properly restrained, was checked by EMS due to airbag deployment but refused transport.
