Fort Hays State University sponsors two Ameri-Corps Seniors programs that provide opportunities for individuals age 55 and older to give their time and talent to strengthen their communities. On March 3, 2022, AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers serving as Foster Grandparents and Senior Companions from Rooks County gathered in Stockton for a drive thru in-service event.

The owners of The Hill City Times have announced that, as of March 25, 2022, their weekly newspaper is now under the ownership of Mr. Dale Worley of Abilene, Kansas. Worley, formerly the publisher of the Osborne County Farmer, is now the owner of the Lincoln Sentinel-Republican in Lincoln, Kansas, and the owner-publisher of the Dickinson County News-Times of Herington, Kansas. He also has an interest in a newspaper printing press located in Clay Center in north-central Kansas.

THE CROSSROADS QUILT GUILD presented a New Years Baby Quilt to baby Tate and his parents, Garrett and Kari Becker of Stockton. The colorful quilt was made by guild members, Terrii Collins (in photo) and Jennifer Guffey. Becker family members there for the presentation were Kari, Addison, Harper, Garrett and cute baby Tate. Titleholders invited to State Capitol

ALL THE CURRENT TITLEHOLDERS and pageant directors were invited to the State Capitol to take part in an Advocacy Day, “Crown The Capitol” on Wednesday, March 30th. Pictured are (from left to right): Jen Gray, Queen of Queens Pay it Forward Pageants; Angela Horn, Mrs. Kansas World Tourism Reigning Beauty; Wendy Adams, Our Diamond Miss Queen of Queens; and Savannah Gray, Our Diamond Miss Cover Girl, all attended this inaugural event. Savannah was also selected to present a speech about her platform “Stand for the Silent” at the event. During their time in Topeka, they were invited to sit in on the Senate floor to watch a few of the proceedings, listen to five speakers and had time to visit their local legislators. It was a wonderful event and the queens had a great time networking.
