Last week, we talked about the extreme suffering that Job endured, yet in his strife, he remained faithful to God. He never blamed God for his troubles but worshipped God, saying, “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” (Job 1:21) This week, we continued in the book of Job, looking at the next challenge that was faced at the hands of Satan. In Job 2:3, the Lord again tells Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? No one on earth likes him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” Satan goes on to essentially ask God to let him do more. This time, Satan says, “Skin for skin! A man will give all he has for his own life. But stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face.”

WHAT IF. With the attack on Israel by Hamas and the designation of war, it's hard not to wonder about the end times. What if this is the beginning of the end of this age? Biblically, this age is the 'Church age,' which began when Jesus died on Calvary and ends when He returns to rule Earth for 1,000 years (the Millennial age). Concerning the end of this age, Jesus told his disciples, 'And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places' (Matt. 24:6-7).
