Annual Lord’s Acre event takes on a different look for this year

In place of the annual event, the Stockton United Methodist Lord’s Acre will be providing curbside pickup and delivery service of your choice of homemade chili, oyster soup or southwest chicken and rice soups; sandwich, pie or cinnamon roll on Sunday, November 8th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Veterans Serving Vittles Soup Lunch canceled this year

Due to COVID-19, the annual Veterans Serving Vittles Soup Lunch at the Stockton VFW Post 8873 has been canceled for his year. The Auxiliary wants to remind you to get out and vote on Tuesday, November 3rd! And thank a veteran for this privilege; they have protected, and some even died, for this right! (Look for the ad in this week’s edition on Page 7A.).

Stockton City-Wide Cleanup set for week for November 2nd through 6th

It’s time to do your fall cleaning! A city-wide cleanup (city limits only) will be held during the week of November 2nd through 6th. Regular trash routes will be picked up as normally scheduled with additional city trucks following to pick up furniture, tree branches, appliances (Freon must be drained from refrigerators), yard waste, and tires (limit 5, anything over the five-tire limit will be charged landfill prices). Items the City CANNOT pick up are household hazardous waste (paint, insecticides, herbicides, etc), batteries, oil and oil containers, fuel and fuel containers, liquid waste and computers.
