VEDA MILLER OF STOCKTON, and Kathy Miller Smith of Euless, Texas were guests of Danny and Thui Miller in Topeka from September 21-24. Veda celebrated her 94th birthday on the 21st by attending a Marie Osmond concert, followed by a Topeka Civic Theatre performance of the musical, “9 to 6,” on the 22nd. She capped off her celebration with seats at the K-State vs. University of Central Florida football game on the 23rd! Veda is standing beside a sign of Veryl Switzer, which hangs in the football stadium in Manhattan. Switzer, who grew up in Nicodemus, was the first African-American scholarship player to graduate from K-State. Needless to say, Veda had a memorable 94th birthday, and according to her family, she didn’t miss a beat attending all the activities. Happy Birthday, Veda!
